Below are random written chiropractic success stories submitted online by satisfied patients around the country. Each year millions of people experience the benefits of chiropractic.

Middle & Lower back pain gone

I suffered with brief periods of middle back pain for 4 years and relied upon Tylenol to stop the pain. Then last spring started experiencing periods of lower back pain. About 6 weeks ago, the lower back pain became so severe that I was having trouble walking upstairs and completing daily activities. That is when I started Chiropractic care to correct the problem instead of masking the pain with Tylenol.

I experience noticeable relief from the pain starting with the first visit and adjustment. Within 4 weeks my back had improved. After 2 weeks, I was no longer experiencing back pain and my back felt so much stronger. I now have been completely free of back pain for three weeks and look forward to continue therapy to strengthen my back so I can continue to be pain free for life.

Retinitis Pigmentosa

I started seeing a Chiropractor because I have a condition called Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP). In my condition, the retina is slowly being deteriorated. The first stage is night blindness, which I have already experienced. Now my normal vision is going also. I have seen Dr. Steve four times now. Since my first visit, I can read the hymn numbers at church. Also I can read the smaller slue numbers at work. And, most importantly, I went out the other night and saw my friend walk past us about 20 feet away, all of which were more difficult before!!!

Arthritis

I am 60 years old. I have been taking arthritis medication since I was 25 years old. When I came to my chiropractor, in the middle of January 2000, I was hardly able to walk. I had arthritis in my right knee and a bone spur on the inside of my left heel. Seven months prior, I had been seeing a foot doctor. He gave me a cortisone injection for the pain. The next day, I went to my arthritis doctor. He gave me a sugar test and it was over 500 resulting in no more cortisone injections for the pain. This was last December (1999). Also, 5 years ago my left knee was replaced. When they did the replacement of my knee, they straightened the leg out which made that leg about ½ inch longer than my right. This caused me to walk with a limp, which made my hips hurt.

So, in January, I decided to try chiropractic. I came in 5 days a week for the first 5 months. I cannot believe the difference. I now take no medicine at all. He got my right leg as straight as my left. No Surgery! No Limp! Now I go see my chiropractor once a week. I have no more pain. For the 1st time in the last 10 years I feel great. I have gone shopping for my 7 kids, their spouses, and my 20 grand children and 3 great grand-children. I can do my own housework, shop and decorate the Christmas tree. I now work 6 days a week, 8-hours a day and cook for the Life Squad 5 nights a month. I just feel good. I am now able to attend festivals and fairs and do things I have been missing out on. I owe all my thanks to my chiropractor and the wonderful staff.

P.S. I feel like I’m 40 now.

Breast Cancer, knee and back problems

During the last 16 years I have been under chiropractic care from time to time. A little over a year ago I underwent radiation treatments for breast cancer. Following that treatment my whole back ached most of the time and the only relief I could get would be to go to bed or lay flat on the floor. I do not like taking pain medication and only used Advil, which dulled the pain but did not relieve it totally. Over the next few months my back continued to get worse and other symptoms began to appear. I could not stand for more that a couple of minutes at a time. I could not bend over to pick anything up. I could not walk more than a few feet at a time. I even had trouble sitting in a chair. My left knee, which had been a problem off and on for a couple of years became more of a problem. Also, I could not turn my head around far enough to be able to back my car up in the driveway.

I suffered with these conditions for six months and during that time moved my residence 80 miles to the Blanchester area. After a month in Blanchester, I decided I could not stand the pain and incapacitation any longer and went to a Chiropractic Center. At the center I was given an exam wherein several problems were discovered and treatments were begun. I felt some relief after the first adjustment, but continued adjustments over the next few months brought total improvement. In addition, I have also been in the rehabilitation program (strength training) for my back and knee which has reinforced the adjustments and massage therapy to the point that I no longer have pain anywhere!

I have been under chiropractic care for the last 7 months, and for the first time in a couple of years, I am pain-free. Without thinking recently, I was backing my car up and realized that I had turned my head around to fully look out the back window and I did not experience any pain or stiffness. I was so surprised that I had done that, I sat in my car for a couple of minutes trying to absorb the fact that I could back my car up in the normal way.

Chiropractic has brought me back to a life without pain and with freedom of movement that I haven’t experienced in a number of years. I have always been a positive type person, but as with everyone else, living in pain and unable to function normally can be a very depressing existence.

I highly recommend chiropractic care, and I plan to continue to receive chiropractic care whenever necessary and follow the exercise program at home that has been suggested to me I order to maintain my new-found pain-free life.

I want to thank, my chiropractor and his excellent staff for caring enough to help me get my health back; for being cheerful and positive and supportive as I have gone through this process; and, for lifting my spirits and keeping me laughing when all I wanted to do was give up and quit. As a result, I feel healthy and younger.

Kidneys Stopped Functioning

As a child in Harlingen Texas and of Arabic ancestry I was gang beat very regularly and ended up with legs three times there normal size. My Dad took me the Medical Doctors and after expansive tests it was discovered my kidneys were failing and I would not live over two months.

I found out my sister was dating a Chiropractor so I asked my Dad if I could please go see him for help & my Dad said he was informed by people that know, he was a quack & would probably kill me. Being just a little boy "I said well that was ok I was going to die in two months anyway". My Dad forbade me to go to this quack as he named him & gave me further information about how he was taking legal action against my sister, making sure she would not be in his will & he was disowning her unless she would quit seeing this quack.

I went to this Chiropractor anyway and asked him what he could do for me as I was to die in two months. He said Chiropractic helps people balance up to gravity releasing their stress tension from gravity and other traumas and as a result of this process the natural recuperative powers were able to work better with less interference. I saw him each day for balancing help for the two months & did not die.

I moved in with my sister and family & later after I served more than 3 years in world war 2 I went to Chiropractic College am a practicing Chiropractor since 1948 still so very happy to help anyone balance up to look, feel & function better. We are such a miraculous wonder, mostly water, controlled by our Brain & systems of nerves, with Oxygen our main fuel. In a balanced position our Brain does a better job of taking care of life with out the interference of crowded cells. Trillions of floating microscopic size cells are we? No wonder we do better balance!

Sleeping through the night

I began my treatment a year ago... I chose Chiropractic for two reasons. First, I have had a series of unsatisfactory experiences seeking conventional medical treatment. Second, several days prior to my accident a friend described his own experiences with Chiropractic and his testimonial was so glowing it stuck in my mind.

My left big toe, which I jammed several years ago in a skiing accident has been sore and often painful. There has been no noticeable discomfort for three months.

My right hip has been sore and painful enough to make driving a car longer than one hour an ordeal. This symptom, which had no cause that I can explain, has disappeared. Three weeks ago I drove five hours to Massachusetts with no discomfort.

I still have a chronic stiff neck on my left side which has been a recurring painful problem since I can remember. However, since starting treatment this problem recurs less often and with less severity. Often when discomfort begins I am able to move my own bone structure using stretching exercises learned under Chiropractic and stop the pain.

My personal medical doctor could offer only x-ray, pain killers, arthritis medication or surgery; all of which seem very unhealthy and too expensive.

On top of being able to sit at my desk and work for two hours with no back or hand discomfort; I am sleeping through the night consistently for the first time in years; I have ended my addiction to caffeine ; I have not had an alcoholic drink since January 1, 1998; I can garden, work on my house or walk in the woods for hours.

In my estimation, all insured people would be better served and much money saved if every person were required to be examined by a Chiropractor before being allowed to seek treatment from a medical doctor.

My eyes are clearer

I've been having problems focusing and breathing the past 4 years I've been at Cornell University. The stress I've had to endure had controlled my body and spine into a hunched over and out of shape and out of energy blob. I've been attending my chiropractor's office and been attended by his magic fingers for two weeks.

Wow! My eyes are clearer. I don't "bottom out" when I breathe! I'm beginning to have much more energy! And... not that I'm liking it... turning away from processed food and the like. Good-bye processed grains and foods. I've been on an all fruit & veggie diet this week and I feel so good! I can only attribute this re-found energy and vitality to this office and what he has allowed my body to find again.

What an experience!

Energy level is so much better

I began care here because I had injured my back during our recent move to a different house. While I had read a little about the concept of "Chiropractic", I really was only interested in having my back pain relieved, preferably in as few visits as possible. The pain lingered on through the first month, and I begin to feel very frustrated.

Early in my second month of care, (I think it was about my 14th visit) the walls came tumbling down, to my great surprise. Breathing seemed to take over my body, and I soon found myself sobbing uncontrollably, although I wasn't aware of any sad thoughts. Despite my embarrassment, I felt so wonderful when it was over... so unburdened. In the weeks since that time, many changes have begun to take place, both physical and mental.

I was shocked when I realized I no longer wanted to start the day with a good cup of coffee. Nor do heavy foods appeal to me now, or rich deserts. I have experienced short bursts of hysterical laughter several times ( although I can't figure out what's so funny). I feel light and open and joyful. My energy level is sooo much better! I can feel movement in my hip area: walking feels different. And pack pain? Well, that's history. I feel sort of like the tin man after Dorothy used the oil can. I am learning to listen to what the "inner me" knows is best for me.

I am very grateful for the wonderful on-going care at Ithaca Network Chiropractic. My husband and two of our children will be starting with Pierre this week.

My Life Has Changed So Much

My name is Jennifer. I am a real person, not being paid to bear witness. My life has changed so much since I've been working with my chiropractor. It took a while to start but when that door opened, it was like Technicolor coming into me.

I started walking differently, straighter, more relaxed. When stress would come up I would find my self breathing it all okay. I could literally feel great bolts of energy streaming up my spine out into my body. I feel so much love in me now- but the major change is that it flows through me. It doesn't get stuck and fizzle out. I am so much less afraid of facing life, of truly being alive. Answers come more easily.

When trauma occurs, I can't hold back- pain come bursting out through tears, sobs- but then its gone and I'm clear and am better able to deal with my situation. Then there will be times when I'm really stuck on a problem. Really unsure of myself. Next thing I know I'll be on the floor doing yoga postures and -pop- a shift will occur and I'll be able to move into the flow once again. I realize more and more that life is all the practice of the action of living- just to keep going. This really only touches the surface of the work still occurring in me. The rest is more difficult to communicate through words.

So a big hug to you and keep breathing!

No Medication

Kaitlin is amazing! (age 4) From the time she was six months old she has spent every other month on some sort of medication or inhaler. She has been coming to see her chiropractor for about a month and a half. In that time she has had no medication of any kind and has been healthier than ever!

Yesterday I asked her if she feels any different since she's been seeing the chiropractor. She said, "Yes, my bones crack a lot and it feels so good!" A while later she didn't know I was watching her bit I saw her move and adjust her own back and she let out a huge sigh of relief. Later than same night she burst into tears. I asked her what was wrong and she said she didn't know, she just wanted to cry. I held her and told her to cry all she wanted. I knew she was having a wonderful release. I have had some of those myself!

Fibromyalgia and could not sit

I had been injured at work and was unable to sit without being in tremendous pain. I went to a chiropractor on the recommendation of my brother. Through his educating me and his treatments, within months I was able to sit without pain. But even more importantly, the fibromyalgia that I had been diagnosed with four years before and was being treated with DRUGS, had diminished. I stop taking all my medicine and four months after I started getting adjustments I had absolutely no symptoms. My headaches stopped, my muscle pain stop, and I was sleeping through the night. I feel healthy and alive again. I feel light running through my body freely.

I now have my children ages 10 and 14 also going to my chiropractor. My teenager who is over 6 feet tall does not experience the pain of his bones growing and has been able to increase his physical power. My 10 year old who is a classified student has improved academically and verbally is able to think more clearly. He has also lost over 16 pounds and feels good inside his body. When I had to have thyroid surgery, I continued my adjustments with my Chiropractor. He treated me differently and has been helping my body adjust to the trauma. I did not take any pain killers or drugs of any kind when I left the hospital. It was not needed. My Chiropractor kept my body flowing on itself. Chiropractors are not Gods and don't claim to be. But...they are angels. My chiropractor has helped me to make my life a healthy one and a much happier one.
